NCGIA Cat Grooming School
The National Cat Groomer's Institute of America's Cat Grooming School is holding an Advanced Cat Grooming Course. Open to Certified Feline Master Groomers or school graduates only (I'm both!) it offers us a chance to brush up on our skills. Today was the first day, and I have to admit, I was pretty nervous! I wasn't sure what to expect. Would I be able to groom my cats? Would the other students be friendly? Would the instructors be nice and able to help me? Would the cats eat me alive?
C2 - one of the school cats
Unsurprisingly, my worries were completely unfounded. I groomed two very nice cats, Sweat Pea and Miss Kitty. Using just those two kitties, I got a chance to refine my skills, learning a few tricks, some new ways to do things and some nice handling techniques. I got great instruction from my teachers, Lynn and Olivia. The other students are great. With just four of us, we're getting lots of personal instruction. Plus it's easy to listen in on what everyone is doing and pick up tips that way.
Falls Park, the perfect place to study!
I'm really enjoying my time here. Love Greenville! The weather is fantastic, the city is gorgeous and fun to wander around in, my classes are fabulous and I'm just having an all out great time. Don't worry, I'll be back in Maryland and ready to groom your cats soon enough.
*First two pictures are shamelessly stolen from the NCGIA. When I get home, I'll share some of my own photos.
